Beyond 9/11: Portraits of Resilience

Here is what has occupied much of my life the past two months. It’s an extraordinary multimedia presentation of more than 40 portraits and oral histories of people whose lives were affected greatly on 9/11 and in the events of the ten years since then. The portraits are by the amazing photographer Marco Grob and the project was spearheaded by Kira Pollack (TIME’s director of photography). Karlyn Michelson edited nearly all of the video oral histories on this site. Executive Editor Radhika Jones drove the editorial bus and the site itself was created by a cast of dozens, at TIME.com and at the corporate level. An extraordinary effort by so many at TIME.
