More than a shared Birthday

Part of being the master of a small slice of the universe is that you can hire your friends to work with you on fun projects. I’ve known Brian Malow for more than 20 years. We met in grad school in Texas, when he diverted from a career in film & TV to pursue standup comedy. I witnessed his first open mike night and watched as he blossomed into a working comic and now occupies a new niche as a Science Comedian (well, Earth’s Premier Science Comedian, if you believe his website).

As I fished for ideas for video segments to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin (both born on the very same day), I immediately thought of Brian, his clever-but-geeky science comedy and his admiration of Lincoln. So I dropped by San Francisco and shot some stuff with him.

The result is this essay: Lincoln and Darwin: Birthdays and Evolution
