Watching Venus Cross Paths with the Sun

Hundreds lined up behind telescopes on a Lake Michigan peninsula yesterday for a glimpse of Venus as it crossed paths with the closest star to Earth. Volunteers with Chicago’s Adler Planetarium aimed their instruments at the sun, with special apparatuses attached, to share the view of the Venus transit with the public.
